All About the East York Farmers' Market

Posted May 22, 2024

If you’re looking to indulge in some delicious delicacies and support local businesses, head on down to East York Civic Centre for the East York Farmers’ Market. This weekly event is held every Tuesday from 8:00am to 2:00pm until October, no matter what the weather may be.

Opening the market in 1999, this year marks the 25th anniversary for the East York Farmers’ Market. Throughout that time, the market has strived to connect Ontarians with local, homegrown products. All the items sold at the market are either grown in Ontario, or produced from Ontario products. This year, they are hosting around 15 vendors sporadically throughout the five-month event, selling a variety of produce, preserves, baked goods, cheeses, meats and more. If you are looking for a way to get outside and embrace the spring and summer months ahead, there’s no better place to visit while indulging in seasonal delights.

The market runs from May 14th to the beginning of October at East York Civic Centre, which is located at 850 Coxwell Avenue in Toronto, and is free to attend.

East York Civic Centre is within a 50-minute drive of all of our Toronto and Mississauga locations. Residents at Linwood Apartments are closest with it being around a 30-minute drive. There is both free and paid parking onsite with a public parking lot off of Mortimer Avenue and metered parking on Coxwell Avenue. The area is also accessible by bus, subway and train as it is a short distance from Union Station. If you would prefer to bike, there are bike racks available on the market grounds.
